The host Vikings, led by 15 points each from the outstanding duo of Nick Kindig and Tanner Andrews, topped Southwood 69-53 in Three Rivers Conference play.
Valley, which improved to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the TRC, led just 9-6 after the opening period Friday night. The hosts took control of the contest by outscoring Southwood 16-4 in the second quarter to lead 25-10 at intermission.
Chainey Zolman and Jacob Ritchey each netted eight points for coach Bill Patrick’s squad in the win. Robby Groom, Logan Britton and Alex Thacker each scored six points for the Vikings.
Southwood drops to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Valley plays at TRC foe Manchester next Friday night.
