James Clipp
James Clipp, 80, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 9:56 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1932, to Lloyd and Bessie (Maust) Clipp. He was a graduate of Concord High School, where he was involved in sports. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Clipp was a lifetime area resident. He married Karen L. Clupper in June of 1977 in Elkhart.
Mr. Clipp had worked at Excel in Elkhart and had also been a bartender at Sicilanos in Elkhart and Raymond’s in Wakarusa. He was a Green Bay Packer and New York Yankee fan and attended activities of the Nappanee American Legion.
He is survived by his wife: Karen, Nappanee; daughters: Michelle (Michael) Marks, Wakarusa, Ind.; Lori (Steve) Herndon, Bloomington, Ind.; grandchildren: Johnathon, Melina and Bridget Marks, Jessica Warpenburg, Carly Herndon; and a great-granddaughter: Zoey Warpenburg.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Dawn Clipp; and four grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17. Rev. Terry Tyler, Grace Point Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in Olive East Cemetery with military graveside services by Nappanee American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Nappanee Boys and Girls Club.
