On Jan. 3, children’s author Jami McDaniel Stichter read her new children’s book at Heartline Pregnancy Center’s B.A.B.E. Boutique, Warsaw, during a book signing event. The audience included children from the Teens N’ Tots Daycare as well as Heartline clients and their children.
B.A.B.E. focuses on the needs of pregnant women and their families. This incentive program awards coupons for participation in various community, medical, social and educational services. These coupons are then used to obtain infant clothing, furnishings, and miscellaneous items at the “B.A.B.E. Boutique,” located in the K21 Health Services Pavilion under Heartline Pregnancy Center, Inc.
B.A.B.E. is designed to increase the utilization of and compliance with community services, to decrease infant mortality and increase birth weights, and to improve self-esteem and encourage responsibility in the lives of its participants.
“When You Don’t Clean Your Room” is Stichter’s first children’s book about a young boy who doesn’t clean his room and eventually gets lost in it until emergency personnel are called to rescue him and he promises to always keep his room clean.
The event was held to introduce young children to a real author who worked hard to achieve her goals and to show them the importance of reading. Stichter interacted with the children with every page she read. A new author, Stichter lives in Warsaw, with her husband and their two children. Her book is available on Amazon or by contacting her at [email protected].
