Todd A. Smith
Todd A. Smith, 46, of Perrysburg, Ohio, of formerly of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, after battling brain cancer.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., on July 27, 1966, to Roland C. Smith and Susie (Blue) Smith. He resided in Fort Wayne and Fremont, Ind., during his childhood and moved with his family to Syracuse where he attended Wawasee High School.
He graduated from Wawasee in 1984 and went on to Purdue University where he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. Todd was the Global Director of Gear Engineering for Dana Corporation where he worked for 27 years. Todd was a beloved member of his community and highly respected by his co-workers.
Todd is survived by his loving wife: April; his three beautiful children: Sabrina, 13; Evan, 12; and Griffin, 9; his mother; his sister: Paula Fiscus; his brother: Brad (Cheryl) Smith; nieces and nephews; his father-in-law: Joe Babich; and numerous extended family members. He also leaves behind countless caring friends and neighbors.
A celebration of Todd’s life will be held at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, Ohio, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, with a “Sharing of Memorable Stories” at 7 p.m. Guests are asked to be casual and wear yellow in honor and memory of Todd.
