Janalyn Ramsey
Janalyn Ramsey, 61, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Warsaw, to Richard Deafenbaugh and Janet (Kelly) Deafenbaugh. On May 25, 1984, in Winona Lake, Ind., Janalyn married Burton A. Ramsey.
Janalyn was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and was the assistant director of nursing for 25 years at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She worked the past 5 years at The Oaks in Columbia City, Ind. In 1973, Janalyn graduated from Warsaw Community High School and then went on to graduate from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Ind. She loved baking, reading and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; daughter: Michelle (Jeremy) Doerr, Warsaw; her mother; sisters: Luann Deafenbaugh, Winona Lake; Linda (Rick) Shoemaker, Leesburg; Terry Deafenbaugh, Winona Lake; and four granddaughters: Taylor and Jena Kammerer; and Kerstin and Kendra Doerr. She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Fredrick Ramsey, who passed away on April 1, 1983.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Lemon of Oak Grove Community Church, Warsaw, will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
