Joan A. (Porman) Hunter
Joan A. (Porman) Hunter of Bourbon, Ind., and formerly of the North Webster, Ind., area, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1936, in Plymouth, Ind., to Chester and Irene (Davis) Porman. She grew up in Bourbon and graduated in 1955 from Bourbon High School, where she was in the Rainbow Girls and played in the band. She lived most of her life in the Bourbon and North Webster areas.
She was married on Nov. 6, 1959, in Rochester, Ind., to Frederick L. “Fred” Hunter who survives. She was a homemaker, former waitress at the M & M Restaurant in North Webster and worked in several local factories.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ very much will be missed very much by her husband and family. She was a member of the New Vision Church in Warsaw where she was a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her husband: Fred Hunter, Bourbon; four sons: Rocky Lane (Danette) Hunter, Warsaw, Ind.; Shad Lynn (Crystal) Hunter, Columbia City, Ind.; Tag Leroy (Carla Kelley) Hunter, Leesburg, Ind.; and Lofty Lee Hunter, New Paris, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Campbell of the church officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bourbon.
