LCA Ladies Lose Twice In Tourney
GOSHEN – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team lost twice Saturday in the Bethany Christian Holiday Tournament.
The Cougars dropped a 58-41 final to Elkhart Christian in a first-round contest and then lost 70-28 to South Bend Trinity in the consolation game.
Jessica Goss scored seven points to lead LCA in the consolation contest. Emilee Catron netted six points and Frani Gerst and Meryl Gerst each had four for the Cougars, who are now 2-8 on the season.
Molly Hoover scored 22 points for Trinity, which improved to 7-1.
Bethany Christian defeated Trinity 48-32 in a first-round game and then topped Elkhart Christian 35-20 in the championship tilt. Bethany Christian improves to 4-9 and Elkhart Christian is now 2-9.
LCA returns to action Dec. 28-29 by hosing the LCA Classic.
