Peace Vigil Organized To Honor Victims
It’s being called the Kosciusko Peace Vigil and the public is being asked to attend the Monday evening event to honor the memories of everyone who lost their lives in the Connecticut school shootings Friday. The vigil is also to remember those in our community who were victims of violence.
A local pastor will offer a few words of comfort and songs of peace will be sung. A bell ringing is to take place for each of the Connecticut victims, but vigil organizer Marena Atkins also welcomes additional ideas for the hour-long vigil, set to begin at 7 p.m. Monday on the courthouse lawn in Warsaw.
In Newtown, Conn., on Friday, 20 elementary school children and six adults were killed when a man entered Sandy Hook Elementary School and mercilessly gunned them down.
Anyone interested in being more involved in the vigil by providing ideas is asked to view the Facebook page.
