Youth Basketball Registration Underway At YMCA
Registration is going on now for Kosciusko County YMCA youth basketball where children in grades 2 through 4 can learn basic skills in a positive environment. The YMCA emphasizes participation, fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship and having fun over winning.
Basketball games are played on Saturdays, with practices on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Games start Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, and run until Feb. 23, 2013.
Again this year, the league will be working with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants from the National Basketball Developmental League. The Ants will be coming to the Y to run a clinic where the kids will learn skills from the players themselves on Jan. 30. All Y Youth Basketball players will also receive a game ticket good for any home Mad Ants game during their season, a T-shirt, basketball and award.
Register until Jan. 4, 2013, with a late fee after Dec. 30 at the YMCA or online at www.kcymca.org. Call Ben Reno at 574-269-9622 for more information.
