Kathryn L. Reiff
Kathryn L. Reiff, 84, of Warsaw, Ind., went to be with her Lord and Saviour at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, while surrounded by her loving family in Mason’s Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw.
Born Kathryn L. Kelley on Oct. 25, 1928, in Elkhart, Ind., she was the daughter of Charles and Grace (Kaufman) Kelley. She and Maurice Reiff were joined in Holy Matrimony on Sept. 1, 1946, in the First Christian Church in Warsaw.
A devoted wife and homemaker, Kathryn was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church (Warsaw) since 1994. She was active in its Sunday School and the Women’s Bible Study. She was a past member of Dutchtown Brethren Church for 46 years. Kathryn attended the Ladies Bible Study held on Tuesday afternoons at Titus Funeral Home.
She was a member of the Gideon’s International Auxiliary for 19 years. Kathryn will be remembered as a faithful prayer warrior.
Earlier in her life and for many years she was a nurse aide at Murphy Medical Center (Warsaw). She also was a Kosciusko Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary volunteer. She had two books published: To God be the Glory (a book of poetry) and Surviving the Wound of Grief.
Kathryn will be missed by many but especially those near and dear to her heart including her daughter and son-in-law: Maureen and Terry Mauzy, Michigan City, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Hope Reiff, Warsaw; six grandchildren and their spouses: Presley and Mary Reiff, Warsaw; Candy and Marcus Reiff, Aurora, Colo.; Jeremy and Karey Reiff, Warsaw; Jim and Nancy Reiff, Warsaw; Jerry and Jamie Reiff, Warsaw; and Trison and Chelsea Reiff, also of Warsaw; eight great-grandchildren: Ella Mae, John, Jake, Zach, Brianna, Mia, Makayla and Aiden; two sisters: Eileen Estep and Diane Poort, both of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband: Maurice Reiff; her father: Charles Kelley; her mother: Grace Kelley-Heckrotte; a sister: Jeri Martin; and a brother-in-law: Leonard Estep.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw; and again an hour before the service which will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in the funeral home. Pastor Dave Hummell of Trinity United Methodist Church and Pastor Jack Worth of Dutchtown Brethren Church will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
