Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department have recently investigated the following incidents:
- Dec. 7, 8:29 p.m. Masterson Chiropractic reported criminal mischief where three windows had been broken on the building at 725 E. Market St.
- Dec. 7, 8:14 p.m. Brian Jarvis reported criminal mischief at 199 E. Fort Wayne St.
- Dec. 7, 10:32 p.m. Walmart Supercenter reported shoplifting.
- Dec. 7, 10:51 p.m. Brandon Carpenter reported armed robbery at 920 Anchorage Rd.
- Dec. 8, 12:59 p.m. Latisha Stamps reported a theft of jewelry from 3216 Heron Blvd.
- Dec. 8, 1:08 p.m. An individual reported fraud at 1413 E. Center St.
- Dec. 7, 5:18 p.m. Gilbert Martinez reported that an individual left the scene of an accident at 399 E. Main St.
- Dec. 9, 2: 45 p.m. Kohls reported a shoplifter at 590 W. 300 North; they had taken the shoplifter into their own custody and she was later taken into custody by the police department.
Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department have recently investigated the following traffic accidents:
- Friday, Dec. 7, 5:18 p.m. East Main Street and North Detroit Street. Driver: Gilbert Martinez, 39, West Eastbrook Street, Warsaw. Martinez stated that a vehicle failed to yield the right of way to him by turning left, and collided with his vehicle at a green light; the other driver left the scene but did come forward later admitting to the accident. Damages: up to $5,000
- Friday, Dec. 7, 7:16 p.m. Husky Trail and North Parker Street. Driver: Richard Bolesky, 80, Gilliam Drive North, Warsaw. Bolesky stated that, at a four-way stop, a vehicle attempted to turn left, failing to give him the right of way. The vehicles collided; the other driver left the scene. Damages: up to $5,000
- Saturday, Dec. 8, 11:28 a.m. 1980 N. Detroit Street. Drivers: Christopher Polk, 35, South Old Ditch Road, Warsaw; and Sherwin Bajas, 28, East Boulder Drive, Warsaw. Polk backed into Bajas’ vehicle in the parking lot. Damages: up to $2,500
- Saturday, Dec. 8, 8:55 a.m. East Sheridan Street and North Scott Street. Drivers: Unknown. A green Dodge Neon was found in front of a tree that the unit appeared to have struck. The vehicle had been reported as stolen on Dec. 7, 7:28 a.m. Damages: up to $1,000
- Friday, Dec. 7, 12:32 p.m. East Winona Avenue and Northbay Drive. Drivers: Bridget Potest, 18, El Paso Drive, Indianapolis; and John Knapp, 72, Knappian Way, Montrose, Pa. Potest rear ended Knapp’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
