Robert L. Moery Jr., 64, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born at Detroit, Michigan on November 7, 1948 to Robert L. and Helen (Mileski) Moery Sr. He graduated from Mumford High School at Detroit in 1967, attended Wayne State University and earned an Associate’s degree in electronics from ITT Tech in 1976.
In 1970 Bob joined the United States Navy and served as a Radioman. He was honorably discharged four years later. He was a technician with Verizon, formerly known as GTE, from 1974 until his retirement in 2010.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, North Manchester.
Surviving are a son: Robert (Amanda) Moery, Parker City, Ind.; and a daughter: Ellen Moery, Cookeville, Tenn.; two grandchildren: Noah Riley Moery, age 3, and Lillie Grace Moery, age 16 months, both of Parker City, Ind.; and a brother, Steve (Jane) Moery, Clearwater, Fla.
Friends and family can call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Zion Lutheran Church, 113 W. Main St., North Manchester. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 29, at the church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
