Leon Robert Baut
Leon Robert Baut, 76, of Milford, Ind., passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Elma, Mich., to Robert and Gretchen (May) Baut. He married Emiko Harada on Oct. 31, 1973, who survives.
Leon was honorably discharged from the United States Navy where he served in Japan and met his wife, Emiko. He attended the First Brethren Church in Nappanee and enjoyed boating and working outside. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Emiko; four sons: Steven (Michelle) Baut, Milford; Michael (Amy) Baut, New Hampshire; Jeff Baut, Michigan; Todd Baut, Tennessee; two daughters: Debbie Free, Utah; Gretchen Baut, Florida; and four grandchildren: Brady, Blaine, Ava and Molly; four brothers: Bobby (June) Baut, Tommy (Helen) Baut, Billy Baut, and Rex (Linda) Baut.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the First Brethren Church of Nappanee, Ind., with Pastor Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery with military rites.
