Cougars Clipped At Jimtown
ELKHART – Host Jimtown used a big first half to defeat Lakeland Christian Academy 45-23 in prep girls basketball action Friday night.
The Jimmies led 13-6 after the first quarter and built their lead to 26-8 at halftime by outscoring the Cougars 13-2 in the second period of play.
The junior trio of Ali Brothers, Joy Moore and Ally Vicsik each scored nine points to lead Jimtown, which improved to 3-3 with its second straight win.
Senior Jessica Goss netted a game-high 10 points to lead LCA. The Cougars lost for the fourth straight time to drop to 1-5 on the season.
Senior Emilee Catron and junior Hannah Remington each had three points for the Cougars. Seniors Alisa Gross and Frani Gerst and junior Morgan Holsclaw each added two points and junior Julianne Haines had one.
Jimtown won the junior varsity contest 25-23.
Both LCA and Jimtown return to action Saturday. The Cougars host Howe School in a varsity only game at 4 p.m., while the Jimmies host LaVille tonight.
