Martha Burnau
Martha Burnau, 94, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in her residence.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1918, in Union Township, Huntington County, Ind., to Flora (Weber) and David Roscoe Johnson. She married Donald T. Burnau in Markle, Ind., on Jan. 11, 1941. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1993.
Martha and Don farmed in Huntington and Whitley counties before moving to Warsaw in 1961. She worked at Zimmer Inc for 16 years in the Soft Goods Department. Martha was active in retirement traveling, visiting her grandchildren, participating in several card games every week.
Surviving are three sons; Donovan (Martha Grubbs), Dickson Tenn.; Gary (Marthene Fullhart), Warsaw; Jim (Agnese LaRue), Yuma, Ariz.; and one daughter: Teresa (David Evans), Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren: John Burnau, Spartanburg, S.C.; Marianne Moschella (Vince), Sarasota, Fla.; Liz Wall (Chris), Dickson, Tenn.; Elizabeth Evans, Alexandria, Va.; Margaret Evans, Pittsford, Vt.; Madeline Evans, Burlington, Vt.; and three great-grandchildren: Feron, Braden and Nathan Wall; a sister-in-law: Mary Ellen Robinson Johnson, Warsaw.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers: Paul Johnson, David “Boag” Johnson; sisters: Mary Louise Goble, Dorothy Tuggle and Lola Davis.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the funeral home. Pastors Bill Garner and Gary Boschain will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
