Warsaw Swimmers Dominate In Opener
WARSAW – J.D. French and Jayden Parrett led the way Tuesday night as the Warsaw boys swim team opened its season with a huge victory.
French and Parrett each won a pair of individual events as the host Tigers blasted Manchester 145-34.
The Tigers won all 12 events in the season-opener for the 2012-13 campaign.
French won the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:00.47 and also took top honors in the 500 freestyle in 5:36.54. Parrett captured first in both the 100 butterfly (58.75) and the 100 backstroke (57.91) for coach Nate Long’s squad.
Other individual winners for the Tigers were Zach Taylor in the 200 IM (2:11.95), Justin Arscott in the 50 freestyle (25.11), Brandon Elliott in diving (172.20), Josh Miller in the 100 freestyle (55.32) and Matt Wildman in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.31).
Parrett also swam a leg on two of the three winning relay teams for the Tigers. He teamed with French, Ethan Cook and Andrew Thrasher to win the 400 freestyle in a time of 3:42.81. The team of Parrett, Taylor, Connor Schue and Brett Fancil won the 200 medley relay in a top time of 1:54.96.
The WCHS foursome of Cook, Wildman, Thrasher and Schue claimed a win in the 200 freestyle relay event with a time of 1:41.88.
