UPDATE: Minor Injuries In Webster Crash
What was initially dispatched as a three vehicle crash near North Webster Monday afternoon, actually only involved two vehicles.
The accident happened on SR 13 just south of North Webster at about 2:58 p.m.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, Patrick Rice, 29, of Warsaw, was northbound on SR 13 in a Nissan passenger car when he noticed a second vehicle, a Dodge pickup truck, slowing in front of him. Rice said he looked down to check for something on the seat and when he looked up he was unable to avoid hitting the truck.
Rice’s vehicle struck the pickup in the passenger side rear tire, then went off the east side of the road striking a small tree. Rice hit his head and was checked on scene by North Webster EMS but refused any further medical treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck, John L. Noble, 66, of Warsaw, was uninjured. He said he was in the northbound lane of SR 13 waiting to turn west into a driveway when his truck was hit.
North Webster Police and Fire personnel assisted officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department on scene.
