Triton Bounces Back In Big Way
UNION MILLS – Shana Anderson and the Triton girls basketball team bounced back in a big way Friday night.
Senior standout Anderson poured in 24 points to pace the Trojans to a 69-36 win at South Central.
The Class 1-A No. 6 Trojans, who improved to 3-1, had lost a tough 39-36 overtime decision to county rival Plymouth at home Thursday night.
Anderson, Triton’s leading scorer, was held to just four points by the Pilgrims.
Junior Taylor Hatfield netted 19 points and sophomore Kylie Mason added 12 for coach Adam Heckaman’s Triton squad Friday night.
The Trojans led 34-23 at halftime before outscoring the hosts 35-13 in the second half. Triton swished through nine 3-pointers in the victory with Anderson and Hatfield each making four triples.
Jill Rosenbaum scored 14 points and Riley Popplewell had 12 for South Central, which falls to 2-2.
Triton won the junior varsity contest 29-13.
Triton (3-1) hosts Class 3-A No. 3 NorthWood and South Central (2-2) hosts Glenn Tuesday night.
