Lacheta Lands With Valpo Volleyball
WARSAW – Warsaw volleyball standout Jamie Lacheta signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Valparaiso University for coach Carin Avery and the Crusaders.
Lacheta, a two-time Northern Lakes Conference selection and an Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association All-Star this season, dominated the courts at the net and beyond the serving line for coach Mike Howard’s Tigers. Lacheta, a three-year starter and four-year letterman, led Warsaw to a 27-6 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play her senior season. Lacheta’s force on the court led Warsaw to signature wins over perennial powerhouses Penn, Elkhart Memorial, Mishawaka Marian, and Muncie Burris.
Lacheta, who totaled over 500 kills in her senior season, set marks for 32 kills in a single game, and 19 aces in a match and racked up 17 consecutive service points in a single game.
The senior outside hitter has not only soared on the court, she has also risen above most in the classroom, earning an incredible 12.17 cumulative GPA on a 12-point scale while enrolled in multiple dual credit and honors courses, and she ranks 27th out of 510 students in this year’s WCHS graduating class.
Lacheta, who is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletics, National Honor Society, Cross Youth Group Sacred Heart Church, and the Tiger Student Athletic Board, will major in Pre-Med at Valpo.
