LCA Drops Close One At Churubusco
CHURUBUSCO – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team lost a close 29-24 final at Churubusco Tuesday night.
The Cougars outscored the hosts 13-9 in the final half, but it was not enough to overcome a 20-11 halftime deficit.
Senior Jessica Goss led LCA with a game-high 10 points. Senior Alisa Gross had eight points and four rebounds for coach Ty Propp’s squad.
Churubusco led 14-6 after the first quarter en route to the win. Shelby Brockman scored seven points and Savannah Labenz had six for the hosts, who improve to 1-1 on the season.
Frani Gerst, Megan Lang and Emilee Catron each had two points for LCA, now 1-2 on the season. Gerst led the Cougars with five rebounds.
LCA plays at Bethany Christian Monday night. The Cougars next home game is Nov. 27 versus Lakewood Park Christian.
