Suicide Diverted On Train Tracks
Syracuse Police and EMS and officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched at about 9:15 p.m. tonight to the same location near Cromwell where a 15-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide early this morning.
According to scanner traffic, a male subject was walking on the tracks in the same area of CR 1000 East and CR 1250 North where Kalee Skaggs was killed at about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday. (See related story)
Dispatchers said the male subject refused to get off of the tracks and was reporting a train was less than a half-mile away. EMS was dispatched when the train passed the area and was unable to indicate if it had struck anyone.
Moments later, emergency officials were told the male subject’s brother tackled him off of the tracks and neither were injured.
