Grace Hosting Talent-Filled Tourney
WINONA LAKE – The Grace College men’s and women’s basketball teams will play host to a talent-filled tournament for a great cause this weekend at the Orthopaedic Capital Center.
The annual KCCCF Optimist Classic will kick off on Friday with four games followed by four more games on Saturday.
Admission to watch the games is $5 per day, and all proceeds will go directly to Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund (KCCCF).
Four teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll will put their talents to the test this weekend, including the eighth-ranked Grace men’s basketball squad.
The women’s tournament is a classic format with Indiana Wesleyan and Union playing Friday at 2 p.m. and Grace and Rochester playing Friday at 6 p.m. Grace will then square off with No. 24 Union on Saturday at 2 p.m. as the Indiana Wesleyan-Rochester game will precede that at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The men’s team will host a pair of NAIA Division I schools starting with Missouri Baptist on Friday at 8 p.m. The Lancers will then face off with No. 4 Robert Morris (Ill.) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The two non-Grace men’s games include Huntington versus Robert Morris at 4 p.m. on Friday and Huntington versus Missouri Baptist on Saturday at 12 p.m.
