Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
- Thursday, Nov. 8, 5:51 a.m. East Pierceton Road, Pierceton. Driver: Thomas L. Waikel, 46, North Perry Drive, Milford. Driver looked away from the road which caused the right side tires of the vehicle to leave the road. Tires slid on frost and caused the vehicle to strike a sign. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. East 900 South, Sidney. Driver: Kaitlyn N. Larue, 20, East 150 South, Pierceton. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Nov. 7, 6:33 p.m. SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: April M. Smith, 26, East Center Street, Sidney. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
- Wednesday, Nov. 7, 8:24 a.m. South SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Alicia A. Ogburn, 21, North 900 East, North Webster. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
- Wednesday, Nov. 7, 10:19 p.m. CR 150 East, Warsaw. Driver: Patrick J. Cowan, 23, North Lighthouse Drive, Warsaw. Driver said he struck a deer, but the officer was unable to locate any deer hair. Cowan’s vehicle matched a description of a vehicle police had been in pursuit with earlier. Upon investigation, the officer found that Cowan had struck three signs along the road. Charges have been requested for fleeing law enforcement and false reporting. Damages: up to $10,000
