Gene ‘Peanut’ Felts
Gene “Peanut” Felts, 86, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
He was born to the late Lloyd and Edna (Laughlin) Felts on Oct. 1 1926, in Syracuse.
Peanut was a WWII veteran and active member of the American Legion. He was a retired ceramic tile setter. He loved to play bingo and spend time with family and friends.
He is survived by two children: Walter (Phyllis) Felts, Des Plaines, lll.; and Carol (Jeff) Butts, Grand Haven, Mich.; Jessica (Ian) Bischoff, Palm Coast, Fla.; Alli (Tom) Ring, Grand Haven, Mich.; Jake Butts, Michigan State University student.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Juanita (Rollins) Felts; three brothers: Kenny, Nelson, Danny and a great-granddaughter: Marley Ring.
Calee Felts of Carol Stream and Kevin Felts a student at Northern Illinois University. He is also survived by a great-grandson, Griffin Ring.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, P.O. Box 1906, Warsaw, IN 46581.
A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Nov. 11, at Eastlund Funeral Home Syracuse. A graveside service at the Syracuse Cemetery will follow.
