Franklin Lopshire
Franklin Lopshire, 89, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at his residence at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Harry Franklin Lopshire and Agnes Mae (Sorgen) Lopshire.
Franklin was a 1940 graduate of Central High School, Fort Wayne, Ind. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. He worked for Guarantee Auto in Huntington, Ind., for 23 years as the store manager. He has been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past four years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons: Ronald Franklin (Lorna) Lopshire, Lebanon, Ohio; Douglas N. (Margaret) Lopshire, Warsaw; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Kathryn M. Vachon, Little Rock, Ark.; Madelyn Jane Knuth, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and his brother: Harold W. Lopshire, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Russ Dewell. Military rites will be conducted by active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later date at Harlan Memorial Cemetery in Harlan, Ind.
