Deer Causes Fatal Crash Near Syracuse
A Cromwell woman died early this morning when she struck a deer on U.S. 6 near Syracuse.
Susana Meza, 36, was killed when her vehicle struck a deer, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. Meza ran off the south side of U.S. 6 and struck a ditch, resulting in the driver side door and roof of the vehicle striking a tree.
Meza died at the scene.
The crash, which happened at 5:36 a.m. at U.S. 6 and CR 37, is still under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff Department Crash Investigation Team.
