Beatrice Hackworth, 89, of Winona Lake, Ind., and formerly of rural Claypool, Ind., died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Ind.
She was born June 15, 1923, in Floyd County, Ky., to Jack and Biddie (Hackworth) Merritt. She married Malcolm Hackworth on Aug. 31, 1940. He died Sept. 18, 1997. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son: James (Bonnie) Hackworth, Winona Lake; one daughter: Judy (Marvin) Gunter, Warsaw; one brother: James (Bonnie) Merritt, Pierceton; four grandchildren; one step-grandson and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W, North Manchester, Ind. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at the funeral home. Pastor Ed French will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
