SPO Named Finalist In International Contest
Each year, Editor & Publisher magazine, which is the authoritative journal covering all aspects of the newspaper industry, honors the best media-affiliated websites across 31 diverse categories. Now in its 17th year, this international contest has broadened its scope to keep up with the ever-changing Internet industry.
After four weeks of in-depth and thorough judging, the Editor & Publisher team, along with a prestigious panel of 68 judges, voted and selected the 2012 EPPY™ Award finalists. We at The Papers Inc. are proud to announce that StaceyPageOnline.com was one of the five finalists in the Best News Website division of those websites with less than 1 million unique visitors per month.
Now in its 17th year, the international EPPY™ Awards contest honors the best media-affiliated websites across 30 diverse categories. The awards also recognize excellence in college and university journalism.
Each EPPY™ entry is judged on its own merits within a particular category. Finalists must receive a score in the top one third of the average score across all categories within their division (1 million and over unique monthly visitors and under 1 million unique monthly visitors). As a result, there may be no winner in categories not reaching this threshold.
Other finalists in our division include the Indianapolis Business Journal, Ottawa Citizen – Digital Lounge, Savannah Morning News, and Southern California Public Radio/KPCC.org. The winner in our division was Lawrence Journal-World.
Publisher of StaceyPageOnline.com Ron Baumgartner says, “It’s really quite an honor to be recognized here in northern Indiana for a website we’ve only had for a few short months and, looking at the other finalists, we are honored to be noted among such good company.”
StaceyPageOnline.com was officially launched on April 30, 2012.
