No Decision On Milford Ag Plant
Kosciusko County Economic Development Corporation President George Robertson expected to have a decision by now on a multi-million-dollar grain processing plant that’s eyeing land near Milford, but the company in question is keeping him and local residents guessing.
The site northeast of Milford is one of two locations being looked at in-depth by an unnamed company that would reportedly build a $70 million to $80 million facility and bring dozens of jobs to the area.
A decision was expected this month but has not yet been made, Robertson said.
“When you get to this level of discussion, the questions get very specific – and there are a lot of them. We’re still talking, and they’ve been out there surveying and stuff. But no decision yet.”
The company began looking at locating on the 270-acre property at the end of 2011. A site in Ohio is also under consideration for the proposed plant.
