Halloween at the Governor’s House
For the eighth and final year, Gov. Mitch Daniels and First Lady Cheri Daniels will host trick-or-treaters at the Governor’s residence from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween night, Oct. 31.
The governor and first lady will pass out assorted candy provided by five Indiana businesses. Donations include chocolate bars from DeBrand Fine Chocolates of Fort Wayne; chocolate treats from Endangered Species Chocolate of Indianapolis; cherry candies from Good’s Candy Shop of Anderson; chocolate-dipped pretzel twists from Schimpff’s Confectionery of Jeffersonville; and fruit jells from Zachary Confections of Frankfort. Trick-or-treaters also will receive take-out gardens provided by INShape Indiana.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming the nearly 800 young Hoosiers who visit us each Halloween,” said First Lady Cheri Daniels. “Once again, we’re proud to feature delicious treats from Indiana businesses.”
Following a theme of “Legends of Rock and Roll,” the governor and first lady will dress as Sonny and Cher, while staff members will dress as other music icons. Costumes will be provided by Landes Costumes by Rachel of Indianapolis. Previous costume themes have been The Addams Family, The Wizard of Oz, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Indianapolis 500, the 1950’s, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
The Governor’s Residence is located at 4750 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis.
