Man Arrested For Meth, Impersonation
A methamphetamine lab located at 2204 E. Market St. in Warsaw Sunday led to the arrest of one man, who was taken into custody in Atwood.
Ryan Dean Winter, 37, address unknown, was arrested Sunday at a friend’s house in Atwood after police were called to the East Market Street address in Warsaw where the female resident located the “one pot” lab in her garage.
Upon investigation, police located a workbench. Covered under tarps on the workbench were multiple items commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, including coffee filters, drain cleaner, Coleman fuel, battery packs and foil. The investigation found that the boyfriend of the resident, identified as Winter, was responsible for the articles in the garage.
With permission from the resident, police continued to search and also found cold packs and multiple 20-ounce pop bottles in the basement of the residence. The Indiana State Police Clandestine lab team and Warsaw Police drug enforcement officers were called to the scene for clean up. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies located Winter in Atwood and arrested him on an outstanding warrant for impersonating a public servant.
Winter was transported to the Warsaw Police Department and interviewed about the items located in the garage and basement of the Market Street residence. He confessed to the manufacture of methamphetamine and was then transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in on the warrant and on charges of dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a Class D felony.
The warrant for impersonating a public servant stems from an Aug. 8 incident where Winter purported himself as a deputy from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department after confronting two subjects parked in a parking lot at night behind the residence at 2204 E. Market St.
