Syracuse Public Library News
A dash of magic brings the pages of the stories to real life: Meet Peter Rabbit in the Briar Patch and say hello to Winnie the Pooh (and Tigger too!) in the enchanted garden; Pippy Longstocking and the Cat in the Hat will show you the way!
Then, watch as Peter Pan and Captain Hook face off on the plank of the Jolly Roger, but a certain crocodile who has a taste for clocks might very well pay them a visit! Next, the Fairy Godmothers bring Robin Hood to life, where he must rescue Maid Marian from Nottingham Castle, but he’ll have to get past the Sheriff of Nottingham first!
Harry Potter and the Hogwarts crew will have plenty of wizard games and snacks for the kids in everyone, and Willy Wonka will be giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
The whole tour should take about 10 minutes, so families have plenty of time to make the SPL a stop on their trick-or-treating route.
If you’d like to volunteer for behind-the-scenes work or as a creative performer for book characters, it’s not too late to give the library a call at 574-457-3022. The program runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the children’s department, and is free for all ages! Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Come and let your imagination take flight!
