UPDATE: Accident On SR 15
Traffic in both north and southbound lanes of SR 15 were backed up for about 30 minutes following a crash that happened just north of CR 350 North in Warsaw.
Just after noon today, Nichole L. Caudill, 25, was operating a 2004 Ford Escape southbound on SR 15 when she collided with the rear end of a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck. The impact forced the truck into the back of another truck, also a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up.
According to Warsaw Police, Caudill said she looked down to change a CD and failed to see that traffic was stopped just north of CR 350 North. The impact caused airbags to deploy in Caudill’s vehicle. She and her young daughter were examined at the scene by Multi-Township EMS but signed off on further medical treatment.
A passenger in Caudill’s vehicle, 17-year-old Sofia Hernandez of Warsaw, complained of shoulder pain and was transported by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Mark Dvorak, 50, of Sturgis, Mich., was in the vehicle Caudill hit. He complained of back and shoulder pain and was transported to KCH by ambulance.
The third driver, Donald Hieber, 54, of New Haven, was uninjured. Hieber and Dvorak were traveling together. Both trucks are registered to Dairy Farms of America, Northbrook Ill.
Total damages were estimated at between $15,000 and $20,000.
