Champion Tigers Honor Five
The champion Warsaw Tigers had five members of its volleyball program honored as first-team All-Northern Lakes Conference as the list was released by the conference earlier this morning.
Warsaw, which won its first volleyball title since 2001 with a 7-0 campaign, claimed its tenth NLC championship overall in the program’s history. Elkhart Memorial had been queen of the mountain for the past 10 years, and the two most recent titles for Warsaw mark the only times since Memorial joined the NLC in 2001 that the Lady Chargers had not won the NLC title.
Taking honors for Warsaw were seniors Chloe Hubner, Jamie Lacheta and Alex Sanchez, junior Emily Poe and sophomore Kate Voelz.
Wawasee, which were seventh with a 1-6 mark, had senior Anne Beer earn Honorable Mention All-NLC honors.
NorthWood (6-1), Plymouth (5-2), Memorial (4-3), Northridge (3-4), Concord (2-5), Wawasee (1-6) and Goshen (0-7) concluded the standings behind the undefeated Warsaw team. Plymouth and NorthWood both had four players selected, followed by Memorial at three, Northridge two and Concord, Goshen and Wawasee one.
