UPDATE: Four Vehicle Crash In Warsaw
Four vehicles were involved in a crash on SR 15 at CR 250 North in Warsaw just before 9:30 p.m. Friday.
According to scanner traffic, two people sustained head trauma. One of the drivers also reportedly attempted to leave the scene.
A Warsaw Police report, made available Monday morning, noted Adam J. Snyder, 35, of Warsaw, was approaching southbound on SR 15 the intersection of Jaylnn Street and noticed traffic was backed up. As the traffic signal turned green, he began passing vehicles in the passing lane. That’s when Elio R. Gutierrez, 38, also of Warsaw, pulled into the lane in front of Snyder resulting in the initial crash.
A third vehicle, driven by Kari E. Brown, 32, of Leesburg, then collided with the rear of Snyder’s vehicle. The impact of the collision also pushed Gutierrez’s vehicle into a fourth vehicle, driven by Jerve A. Wright, 25, of Fort Wayne, who was stopped in the southbound turn lane waiting to make a left turn onto CR 250 North.
A portable breath test and a blood draw were ordered for Gutierrez, who police believe had been drinking. Blood test results are pending. Gutierrez also complained of head pain and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Also injured was Kari Brown, who complained of abdominal pain.
The southbound lane of SR 15 was closed for about an hour due to the crash.
Damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
