Alcohol A Factor In Noble Crash
What started as a call of a suspicious person led Noble County authorities to a car crash involving two North Webster residents.
At about 3:45 a.m., Noble County Sheriff’s Department deputies were summoned to a home in the 5100 block of West 100 South where the homeowner reported a suspicious woman sitting inside a car at the residence.
Upon investigation, NCSD deputies say Shantel Lawlor, 31, of North Webster, had walked from the accident scene in an attempt to get help. She was a passenger in a car, driven by Anthony Helman, 30, also of North Webster, that left the road, struck several trees and an embankment and rolled over. Lawlor was suffering chest pains.
Police say Helman was driving west on West 100 South when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. He was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest approximately 360 feet from the initial point of impact.
Both Helman and Lawlor were flown by Samaritan to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
