No. 1 Jimmies Topple Triton
ELKHART – Host and top-ranked Jimtown wrapped up a perfect regular season in style Friday night with a 49-14 win over Triton.
The Class 3-A No. 1 Jimmies finish teir regular season at 9-0 overall and 7-0 in league play.
The Jimmies, who won 53-0 at Triton in 2011, scored 22 points in the first quarter Friday. The hosts led 36-7 at halftime.
Bryson Mosier threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Cody Shively for a Triton touchdown. Cole Kreighbaum also threw a toudown toss for the Trojans, hitting D.J. Riffle with a nine-yarder.
Shively rushed for 44 yards on 12 carries and Cole Kreighbaum added 43 yards on eight attempts for the Trojans, who finish regular season action at 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the NSC.
Devon Emerson made the most of his six carries for the Jimmies. He totaled 119 yards on the ground and scored four times, on runs of 12, 40, four and 57 yards. The hosts rushed for 250 yards in the win.
Jimtown outscored its nine regular-season foes 354-39.
Triton plays at Adams Central in a first-round Class 1-A sectional game next Friday night.
