KREMC Donates Computers
Kosciusko REMC recently donated four used computers to the Jack & Jill Preschool in Mentone. Students at the preschool use computers daily to aid in learning the alphabet, numbers, hand-eye coordination and basic computer skills they will use throughout their education.
“Our old computers would take upwards of 20 minutes just to turn on and wouldn’t support the more in-depth educational programs for the students, but with these new computers, the sky is the limit,” said Chris Morehouse, Jack & Jill Preschool’s head teacher.
“As you walk through the main entrance of the preschool, the computer area with four students geared with headphones, a mouse, and keyboards are the first thing you see, other students who are working on different assignments can’t wait to get their turn on the new computers,” smiled Carol Ousley, KREMC Energy Advisor, “It’s a great feeling knowing what a difference these computers will make at the school, just because the computers can no longer handle the heavy software requirements we have, doesn’t mean they need to go to waste.”
Before donating the computers Kosciusko REMC did remove all data and contacted a number of schools to determine need.
