Roy R. Archer
He was born April 9, 1922, in LaGrange County to Joshua T. and Elva E. (Gray) Archer. He married Crissie Maxine Vance Sept. 4, 1942 in Goshen. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters: Tana Penland and Carolyn Bogucki, both of Goshen; a son-law: Larry Bray, Milford, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Marilyn Bray; a son: Jon R. Archer; four sisters: Violet Richards, Martha Schrock, Bernice Eash and Ethyl M. Dunithan; and two brothers: Cecil and Stacy Archer.
A lifetime area resident, Mr. Archer, worked as superintendent at Barth RV. A World War II veteran, Mr. Archer was a member of the DAV, serving as an officer at both the local and state levels. As State Commander, he was honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award and the DAV National Commanders’ Award.
Cremation has taken place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m., memorial service, Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial, with military honors, will follow in Violett Cemetery.
