Mary Etta Schmucker
Mary Etta Schmucker, 75, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at her residence after a 4 month illness with cancer.
She was born April 22, 1937, to Enos M. And Maude (Slabach) Eash in Lagrange County. She married Marvin E. Schmucker on Oct. 16, 1969. He preceded her in death May 29, 2009.
Mrs. Schmucker was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are sons: Glen (Becky) Schmucker, Nappanee; Eddie (Susan) Schmucker and Lamar (Marilyn) Schmucker, both of Bremen, Ind.; daughters: Coleen (Kenny) Yoder, Shipshewana, Ind.; Rosanna (Toby) Troyer, Bremen; step- daughters: Kathryn (Devon) Slabaugh, New Paris, Ind.; Virginia (Omer) Miller, Julia (Floyd) Miller, both of Milford, Ind.; Laura (Marion) Miller, Nappanee; 24 grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; a brother: Wilbur Eash, Purdin, Mo.; and sisters: Rosa Ellen(Henry) Zook, Sarasota, Fla.; PollyAnna Otto, LaGrange, Ind.; and Sarah Jean (Clarence) Chupp, Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother: Ervin Dean Eash; a brother-in-law: Jerry Otto; a granddaughter: Laura Diane Troyer; a step-grandson: Matthew Jon Miller; a step-great-grandchild; and grandson-in-law: Eric Helmuth.
Family and friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the family residence, 28892 U.S. 6 West, Nappanee. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ronnie Miller residence, 8919 W. 1350 N., Nappanee. Officiating will be the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church and burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
