UPDATE: One Flown After Leesburg Crash
A one-vehicle crash in the 500 block of East Armstrong Road, Leesburg, was reported at 5:10 a.m. this morning and sent a Warsaw woman to a Fort Wayne hospital.
Rescue personnel from Leesburg Fire Department extracted the driver, now identified as Kathryn Logan, 25, of Warsaw, from her 2007 Chevy Cobalt. Logan left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a NIPSCO utility pole.
She was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in what was initially believed to be serious condition with a head injury, but Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says Logan has since been released from the hospital. It is unknown if she was wearing a seatbelt at the time if the crash.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies were also assisted at the scene by Multi-Township EMS. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
When StaceyPageOnline.com first reported this crash earlier today, we reported the driver to be female. Hill says the name of Shelton Parsons, which was given to media as the driver, was actually a witness.
Hill explains that the KCSD is using new software and officers are still learning how to use it. For that reason, the witnesses name was inadvertently entered in the driver’s information section.
