Two Serious After Early Morning Crash
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies are investigating an early morning crash that seriously injured two local people.
The accident happened at about 5:45 a.m. at SR 15 and CR 600 North near Leesburg. According to KCSD information, the Leesburg Fire Department was called to extricate at least one of the victims.
Initial findings are that Joseph A. Hettinger, 33, of Warsaw, was eastbound on CR 600 North and disregarded the stop sign at SR 15. Hettinger’s 2000 Lincoln SUV struck a northbound 1997 Pontiac Sunfire that was driven by Gary Weaver, 58, also of Warsaw.
Weaver and a passenger in Hettinger’s vehicle, Lyndsay J. Hooley, 30, Warsaw, were both transported to Lutheran Hospital in serious condition. Hettinger was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for minor injuries.
KCSD deputies stated the crash is still currently under investigation.
