Anyone who would like to donate regular size candy bars for the children, please bring them to the adult circulation desk. The Milford Public Library is expecting to have over 300 visitors this year.

Preschool Story Time
It’s Preschool Story Time! Join the MPL at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays or 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings for “Leaves and Apples.” Miss Tina will read the books, Apples, Apples, by Salina Yoon, Lois Ehlert’s Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf and other stories about leaves and apples. There will be singing and fingerplays. All children ages 3-6 are invited. Register by calling 574-658-4312.
Grab your knitting needles and yarn, and learn how to knit the easy way: by watching! The group would be glad to demonstrate how to knit. Got a project started? The group can help with that too. All ages are welcome! The group meets the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the library meeting room.
Teen Read Week
Calling all TEENS… come to the library the week of Oct. 14-20 to help celebrate Teen READ Week. This year’s theme is “It Came from the Library!” Check out the display in the teen area and pick up a monstrously good read! MPL dares you to read for the fun of it! Teen Read Week is a time to celebrate reading in all its forms —books and magazines, e-books, audiobooks and more — and become regular library users.
Friends of the Library Events
The Friends of the Library are hosting their bi-annual book and bake sale in November. If you have gently used books, videos, DVDs, magazines, etc., please bring them to the meeting room at the library. Thank you!
