Trojans Notch First Victory
LAKEVILLE – The Triton High School football team quenched its hunger for a victory Friday night.
Bryson Mosier led the way as the Trojans collected their first win of the season with a 21-10 victory at LaVille.
Mosier, the senior quarterback for the Trojans, threw for one touchdown and ran for another in the Northern State Conference contest.
The Trojans out gained the Lancers 321-199 in beating them for the fifth time in the last six meetings. Triton, which beat LaVille 41-0 last season, overcame three turnovers Friday night.
LaVille, which drops to 1-6, led 10-7 at halftime. The Lancers have scored just 37 points in their six losses this season.
Mosier finished the game 10-21 passing for 152 yards. He also rushed for 106 yards on 13 carries. Mosier scored on a 44-yard run to give Triton a 7-0 lead. The Lancers then rallied to take a 10-7 advantage.
The Trojans scored the final 14 points of the contest. Cody Shively gave coach Rodney Younis’ squad the lead for good with a one-yard touchdown run to make it 14-10. Mosier capped the win by throwing a 24-yard touchdown toss to Cole Creighbaum.
Triton, now 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the NSC, hosts Knox next Friday night.
