Student Arrested During Random Drug Search
A 17-year-old Warsaw Community High School student was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana this morning after a random K9 search was conducted at both Warsaw middle schools.
Warsaw Police say four K9’s searched Edgewood Middle School and Lakeview Middle School lockers and book bags this morning. The dogs alerted on bags located in an industrial art class area at LMS. Those bags belonged to the 17-year-old WCHS student who was attending an industrial art class at the middle school.
The juvenile male was arrested and released to his guardians. He faces charges of possession of marijuana with the Kosciusko County Probation Department.
Warsaw Police continue to diligently work to reduce the influence of illegal drugs in the community by aggressively pursuing those who possess, use, or sell illegal drugs, like marijuana. Tips on school drug use may be reported to any school resource officer or can be called into the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9538.
Warsaw Police were assisted by K9 units from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Winona Lake Police Department.
