Letter To Editor: Opposes Ag Facility
Dear Editor:
In response to recent articles pertaining to a proposed agricultural facility in Milford, we do not have to say much to get our message across. After all, when we stated a few years ago that the fuel refinery (aka ethanol plant, etc.) would harm our children and families surrounding the same location (as declared articles on Sept. 19 and again today), some people and company representatives said, “Your children and families have to die sometime.”
(Note: The area encompasses 750+ homes within a mile radius, which has serious health concerns to everyone living within this area and beyond.)
Speaking for ourselves, we are located directly across from the said location where the development of this property will have a huge impact on our children’s lives and health should this location be chosen to build anything heavy industrial. We would like to remind all those that are involved (development commission, etc.) in the land northeast of Milford that we have children with health issues that pollution and allergens threaten their quality of life.
You ask, “Why not sell your home and move away?” If it were that simple, we would have moved away from here a long time ago. We cannot move because of other people’s bad choices that have not allowed us to sell or move from the area.
Some thoughts to meditate upon that come from the Holy Bible: Proverbs 16:18, Proverbs 6:16-19, and Exodus Chapter 11… remember this chapter well. We conclude with the Holy Bible verses on a positive note should a righteous decision be made: Matthew Chapter 5 (The Sermon on the Mount). Joshua 24:15!
