Trial Set For 2011 Stabbing Incident
Today, Bryant, now 32, appeared in Kosciusko County Superior Court I for a pre-trial conference where a two-day jury trial was set for Feb. 5-6, 2013.
According to court records, Bryant, now 32, and his girlfriend attended a party at the invite of then 18-year-old Cody Slone. Bryant allegedly got in an argument with several people at the party and the three were asked to leave.
The argument, however, continued to escalate outside where Bryant, his girlfriend, and Slone all reportedly left the party, but then started to walk back to it. It was then when Bryant allegedly pulled a knife and sliced a 20-inch gash in Slone’s arm before fleeing the area.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Bryant for aggravated battery, a class B felony; and battery by means of a deadly weapon, a class C felony.
Police said Slone was initially listed in serious, but stable condition three days after the attack and has since recovered.
A final pre-trial conference is set for 8:30 a.m. Jan. 7, 2013. That will also be the last opportunity Bryant has to accept a plea before going to trial.
