Green Miller
Green Miller, 83, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Mason Health & Rehab of Warsaw.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1929, in Floyd County, Ky., to Cleve Miller and Liddie (McGuire) Miller. He was married to Susie Hughes on June 22, 1955, by Reverend J.C. Wright in Prestonsburg, Ky. She passed away on Sept. 20, 2003.
He attended Prestonsburg schools in Kentucky, and then he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. Green was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., moving to the Warsaw area in 1955. He retired in 1991 from Da-Lite Screen Company Inc. after working there for 27 years, and for 50 years he faithfully supported and attended Pentecostal Lighthouse Church of Warsaw. He enjoyed going to and watching baseball games of his favorite team the Cincinnati Reds.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son: Ron Miller, Warsaw; one daughter: Mary Miller, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Jason Alspaugh, Chicago, Ill.; Whitney (Joe) Swanson, Warsaw; Melody Miller, North Manchester, Ind.; two treasured great-grandchildren: Jamison Joseph Swanson and Julian Joseph Swanson, both of Warsaw; two brothers: Joe Miller, Jacksonville, Fla.; Boyd “Peanut” Miller, Battle Creek, Mich.; and several loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Glenn Hughes.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and the V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw; and active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
