Grace Soccer Players Honored
WINONA LAKE – Collin Cone and Kyle Hamlin swept the Crossroads League’s weekly player of the week awards for men’s soccer after helping Grace College to two wins in two matches.
Cone, a senior goalkeeper, was named the CL’s Defensive Player of the Week. He made a number of fine saves to earn two shutouts in the week (vs. Andrews University and vs. Moody Bible Institute).
He has tallied three shutouts in Grace’s first three matches as a central figure in Grace’s perfect start to 2012.
Hamlin, a freshman midfielder, earned the CL’s Offensive Player of the Week. Hamlin scored his first collegiate goal in the first half against Andrews University. He then went on to add another goal in the second half and a third goal against Moody Bible Institute.
All in all, Hamlin tallied three goals on just seven shots in helping Grace off to a 3-0 start to the season.
