- Aug. 24, 9:45 a.m. A Warsaw woman reported being bitten by a bat in her apartment and was treated for rabies with a series of shots.
- Aug. 24, 7:29 a.m. Larau Mosqueda, Warsaw, received a citation for being an unlicensed driver.
- Aug. 27, 9:08 a.m. DeWayne Busz, Warsaw, was bitten by a bat at the Presbyterian Church in Warsaw. The bat was confined and sent to a lab to be tested for rabies.
- Aug. 28. Jacoba Hale, Warsaw, was reported to CPS for poor living conditions.
- Aug. 28, 10:33 a.m. Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Center Street in Warsaw. The vehicle was towed.
- Aug. 28, 6:28 p.m. A Warsaw woman reported being threatened by her ex sister-in-law.
- Aug. 28, 11:09 p.m. Aaron Vis, Warsaw, reported that his iPhone had been stolen from the YMCA.
Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
- Tuesday, Aug. 28, 11:15 a.m. Detroit Street. Drivers: Randall Spear, 23, 2077 W. 400 N., Warsaw; and Courtney Walters, 33, 415 E. Barrington Pl., Warsaw. Spear stopped for an ambulance then pulled back out, trying to turn left to enter Jimmy John’s and struck Walters, who was driving in the left lane. Damages: up to $5,000
- Tuesday, Aug. 28, 7:12 p.m. 3660 Commerce Dr. Driver: George Fisk, 82, 239 EMS B40A Ln, Leesburg. While trying to turn right, Fisk struck a yellow concrete pole. Damages: up to $5,000
- Monday, Aug. 27, 4:05 p.m. Winona Avenue and Park Avenue. Drivers: Tommy Hatfield, 60, 1419 Stratford Dr., Winona Lake; and Holly Urschalitz, 54, 767 Chapman Lake Dr., Warsaw. Urschalitz was backed up at railroad tracks due to heavy traffic, when Hatfield struck his vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
- Monday, Aug. 27, 5:11 p.m., 811 E. Arthur St. Drivers: Taryn Wuensch, 18, 1060 Polk St., Huntington; and Morgan Hepler, 18, 710 Cook St., Warsaw. Wuensch was backing out of her parking space and collided with Hepler who was heading south in the parking lot. Damages: up to $5,000
